Please note that although our Henna Hair Dye is a plant-based formula and does not contain any harsh chemicals, some people may still be allergic to certain plants and plant-based products. To rule this out, we highly recommend conducting a skin/strand test before a full-on application. If it turns out that you are allergic to plant-based dyes, you can return the product.
Regarding the application process, since our henna does not contain color developers (harmful chemicals) that speed up the process, it takes longer to prepare and apply, typically anywhere from 3-4 hours.
In terms of gray coverage, our Henna Hair Dye, being made with plant-based ingredients, does not contain harsh chemicals that can provide 100% coverage. Therefore, individual results may vary depending on the percentage of grey and the user's experience with henna.
If you are switching from chemical hair dyes to henna, one application may not be enough to achieve the expected results. Most first-time henna users get the desired results after a couple of applications, as henna works differently compared to conventional hair colors.
Henna naturally contains red pigment, but when mixed with other herbs like indigo (naturally contains blue color) and amla, as well as other herbs, any shade of hair dye can be made. Our proprietary blend contains a specific percentage of herbs to achieve specific shades.
After rinsing the henna, it is highly recommended not to wash your hair with shampoos that contain sulfate until after 48 hours, as henna fully develops the color after that. Sulfate does not go well with henna dye, as it will wash out the hair color before it has a chance to settle in. You can pair it with our sulfate and paraben-free shampoos.
